Tim Berners Lee is the man we have to thank for creating the internet in 1983 on January first. It was not just him alone, he had a company and team of researchers and programmers to aid him in this endeavor.  Although Tim Berners Lee brought the public version of the internet to reality, it was already a system in use by the US military in the 1960's.
