The internet is a world wide system of computer networks that use an international system communicate throughout a series of networks. Nikola Tesla had the idea for a large data base to search for books and documents anywhere you are in the early 1900's. Way after Nikola Tesla, another man brought his vision to life. Tim Berners Lee is the man we have to thank for creating the internet in 1983 on January first. It was not just him alone, he had a company and team of researchers and programmers to aid him in this endeavor.
Although Tim Berners Lee brought the public version of the internet to reality, it was already a system in use by the US military in the 1960's. This helped the military strategically communicate and keep them selves off the easy to find radio waves in war. The internet takes a very different form in todays world. it is used as an international meca of content and knowlegde that is accessible at your finger tips and in seconds.
the first website went live in 1991 and was created by Tim Berners Lee. the same man to begin the project of creating the internet oublished the first website and created what is a url. the website was broadcasted out of a european center on a NeXT computer system.
check out a link to a simmulated recreation of the first website.
